Important dates for submission of abstracts:

Presenters will be notified by June 30th

Late poster only submissions accepted until June 30th, to be notified July 15th

 

How to submit abstracts

Abstracts are welcomed in any of the symposium topics and related areas.

All abstracts will be considered for either oral or poster presentations depending on the assessment by the committee.

Oral presentations will vary from 10 to 20 minutes, depending on the symposium topic and number of other presentations in that area. Presenters should be prepared to answer questions for 2-3 minutes and/or engage in a panel discussion with others in their symposium topic group.

Poster presenters must be present for the poster walk on their designated day, and be prepared to verbally highlight the research in 1 to 2 minutes and answer questions.

If the submission is only for poster presentation, please clearly state that on the submission.

Prizes will be given for the best poster in each of the poster walk presentation groups.

 

Instructions for preparation of Abstracts

Abstracts should be no longer than 350 words excluding title and author names, in clear English, in the following format:

TITLE in capital letters except as determined by appropriate scientific names

Authors First initials and last name. Underline primary author who will be attending to do oral presentation or answer questions during poster walk. Please footnote university or organization affiliations, with address, telephone, fax, and email contact information for primary author

Backgroundany statement about preceeding work and rationale for undertaking the study

Aimshypothesis and objectives

Methods briefly stated study design; Include methods where appropriate

Resultsbriefly stated chief results with appropriate statistics and pertinent discussion

Conclusionslimited to conclusions supported by results

Suggested Symposiumplease note if the abstract is intended for a particular symposium topic or subject area

o Authors must declare competing interests

o Submission and acceptance of an abstract grants the 10th CAPGAN Conference on Diarrhoea and Malnutrition the right to publish the abstract in hard or electronic form

o All accepted authors will be expected to provide the conference organizers with one sentence describing a feasible implementation to improve child health and move towards MDG 4.
