Instructions for poster presenters at CAPGAN 2009

Poster stands are 45 inches (114cm) wide by 44 inches (111.5cm) tall. They will be arranged in John Chiphangwi hall at the College of Medicine campus. The stands are quite tall, and presenters should note that small writing near the top will not be easily legible. Posters will be affixed with thumbtacks or staples.

Posters will be available for viewing throughout the assigned day of poster presentation. There will be official poster walks on the day of poster presentation during the 1 _ hour lunch break. Groups will take turns walking through the posters with a moderator. During this time, poster presenters will be expected to stand with their posters and be able to give a quick (1 minute) oral summary of the highlights of the poster and answer questions.

You can find out the day of your poster presentation on the CAPGAN website under poster presentations: posters1.htm

On the morning of your poster presentation, please bring your poster to the venue and go to John Chiphangwi hall (on the second floor of the College of Medicine) to hang your poster. Conference staff members will direct you to the place assigned to your poster.

At lunchtime on the day of your poster presentation, half of the delegates will be asked to be the first poster viewing group. You should plan to go immediately to John Chiphangwi Hall to be with your poster. On the day of your poster presentation, conference staff members will bring you a box lunch so you do not have to wait in line at the cafeteria or leave your poster.

On the afternoon of the poster presentation during the last event of the day, conference staff people will take the posters down again and have them ready for collection prior to departure. You can also choose to do this yourself.

If you choose to have your poster included in the final CD to be distributed, you also have it in an easily reproducible format which can be converted to PDF to prevent unauthorized piecemeal use of your text or photographs. Either send this to the conference scientific organizer capgan2009@gmail.com prior to August 10th, or bring it to the conference on CD or flash drive for the IT personnel to access. Only presentations received prior to noon on Friday, August 14th will be considered for inclusion.

Poster presenters are encouraged to participate in the compilation of the list of feasible implementations to improve child healthy in Africa. Send your single sentence to the scientific organizer at capgan2009@gmail.com.
